The 2011 Folkestone Triennial presents new commissions by 19 international artists. The artworks, which include sculptures, films, installations and sound works are displayed around Folkestone’s streets, squares, beaches and historic buildings. Curated by Andrea Schlieker, the theme of this year’s Triennial is A Million Miles from Home. The theme refers to the sense of being between worlds, of displacement and separation, of transience and having to find bearings in an unknown elsewhere.
