Published on the occasion of the The Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Art 2002, awarded to Aernout Mik. The Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Art is intended to support artistic talent in the Netherlands. Alfred Heineken established the prize in order to recognise and encourage outstanding Dutch artists. In 1988, the Alfred Heineken Fondsen Foundation established a biennial prize to be awarded to an outstanding artist working in the Netherlands. The prize is also funded by the Foundation.
