This book is published to coincide with the exhibition of Sean Dower at Dom Omladine in Belgrade. The exhibition title refers to the highway E70, the so-called path of Brotherhood and Unity, ideological and cultural artery of communication in the former Yugoslavia. Dower's first visit to Belgrade in 1990 with Bou Gamelan Ensemble when in the context of BITEF brought great music and pyrotechnic performance in an abandoned power plant in Dorćol. Since then, Dower in his work continued to combine sculpture, performance and sound to include the audience in a dynamic spatial, acoustic and visual experience. Constructivism combined with the urban landscape of Belgrade has left a deep mark on Dower. The recent visits to Belgrade strengthened his desire for action through cultural dialogue.
