Hiriya is the name of a notoriuos garbage dump at the outskirts of Tel Aviv. The 35 year old dump was closed in 1998, but still is visible as Israel's most potent symbol of an excessively throwaway consumer culture and environmental neglect. 'Hiriya in the Museum' presented a respond to the dump itself and to the idea of two opposites: a dump and an art museum. Tel Aviv Museum of Art, November 17, 1999 - Januari 20, 2000.
