In 2002 en 2003 Ivan Grubanov visited the trial against his former president, Slobodan Milosevic, at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague. Confronted with the man and the events which had shaped his life, he looked for a way to capture the intensity of this experience. He started to make drawings, in an attempt to relate to this chapter in history. This publication was published on the occasion of the exhibition 'Ivan Grubanov' at Stroom Den Haag, December 18, 2005 - March 30, 2006.
